Let me step away from my “internet people are ….ugh” fast for a few minutes.  (I’ve been here, lurking on yur pages, reblogging yur insights but mostly expressing my admiration for vintage dishes, pretty kitchens and adorable children.

Scrolling through my dash a couple of minutes ago I see a headline from the onionlike tumblr – a woman offered “sexual favors” for some fast food.  (No linkage here, because of reasons.)  Provocative, eh?  Tiltillating.  Yes, we all see the joke here.  Har har wink wink nudge nudge.

Joke’s on you, poor homeless women, whom the reports say has been known to frequent the area asking for money.  Yup, she’s homeless and she just used to straight out ask for money.  But apparently that didn’t work.  Now she has “taken the begging game to new lows.” 

So funny. 

Yup, she was cited.  Yup, she may be liable to serve time, but the jail’s overcrowded and low on resources.  Yup, she may face a fine of up to $1000, this homeless women looking for some food. 

Where y’all at, feminists?

how did i not know about this story? this is like the first I’m seeing of it on tumblr

The article in question is here.  I didn’t know about the onionlike tumblr until reading this post, but I had to go check it out, and DAMN, the comments page is full of people who need to be kicked in the face really hard.  Sex-shaming, fat-shaming, horribly classist remarks, and probably some racism too if you scroll down far enough.

This is the kind of thing that reinforces my belief that people are, at heart, pieces of shit.
