I think the other thing that gets my goat is I can’t think of a single Person Who Binds in my sphere of existence who would ever take their shirt off to reveal their binder/ing-of-choice with a ‘sexy’ face on. Because most of the people I know who bind don’t want anyone to know they’re binding that’s kind of the whole point.

 This doesn’t makes any sense, like… nothing. 1. why would you get mad at someone for wearing underwear that’s too big. 2. Why are you mad at someone for having a sexy face. jealous? 3. You guys are idiots, she is a man in this shoot. She is wearing that thing to hide her boobs, not to look skinnier. 4. What does this have to do with her supporting gay rights and telling people to love themselves? Seriously, think before you say something. And don’t judge people or things that they do if you have no idea what you’re talking about.

umm…I’m sorry but nobody meant that she had binded to look skinnier, I agree with everyone else, she claims to be an LGBT supporter (I included the T!) and this does not do many trans men justice, there are many young boys who will look to this sort of photo and think “OH that’s how I should bind” without knowing the physical damage that sort of binding can do. 

so, in response to the person who said “to think about what you say before you say it” you should think before you say and realise the implications of something like this on a vulnerable community.

What is the problem here? So no one can dress in drag anymore now? A binder can be ‘appropriated’ can it? There’s someone who gets to police this stuff is there? The transvestite police perhaps? Comments are sooooo problematic, sort your shit out Tumblr.

See, now I’m conflicted because my knee-jerk reaction to this is “well, that’s just terrible,” but then I think about the fact that I have indeed bound for drag shows and I myself am not trans*; I just enjoy dressing in drag from time to time because it’s fun.  So is it problematic that I do that?  Is it really only okay for trans* people to do drag shows?  And in that case, wouldn’t the label of “drag” imply that, say, a trans woman isn’t “really” a woman, just dressing like one?

These aren’t loaded questions, I promise; I’m legitimately looking for information and opinions on this whole situation that I’ve never fully considered.
